Introduction to Micro LED technology

Author:

Micro LED technology, i.e.,  LED miniaturization and matrix technology, refers to the high-density and micro-size LED array integrated  on a chip, for example,  each pixel of the LED display can be addressed and driven to light up separately, which  can be regarded as a miniature version of the outdoor LED display, reducing the pixel distance from millimeters to microns. Micro LED technology  is mainly to make the LED structure thin, miniaturized, and arrayed, and reduce its size to about 1-10μm. In this technology, LEDs are transferred to the substrate in batches, and then physical deposition is used to form a protective layer and electrodes, finally encapsulated to complete  the display of the Micro LED.

The advantages of Micro LED technology are obvious. First of all, Micro LED technology inherits the characteristics of inorganic LED, such as high efficiency, high brightness, high reliability and fast reaction time, etc. and has the characteristics of self-illumination without backlight. Moreover, Micro LED technology has the advantages of low power consumption (only one-tenth the power consumption of LCD), ultra-high resolution and color saturation (close to OLED and no color decay), faster response, longer lifespan and higher efficiency.
